Leslie Brack, 'Kinda Verbal'

S.S. Champlain, December 1, 2012 - February 1, 2013

Reviewed in Sharon Butler's Two Coats of Paint

Known for her small scale oil paintings, Leslie Brack exhibited her newly developed watercolor practice and a surprising series of 3-dimensional objects for this salon in Suzy Spence's home.

Leslie Brack manages to infuse the detritus of pop culture with emotion and sensitivity. Her confessional texts overlay found images, books and album covers with melancholy and dread.

'Kinda Verbal', salon night December 1, 2012, was the first of such artist/curator collaborations under the project title "S.S. Champlain".
